New digital interfaces enable players to interact with the digital objects directly with their bodies in a natural way, and mixed realities even intertwine the digital objects with the players’ surroundings. The effects of new technologies on how players interact with the game are evident. However, the change games are facing is not merely related to the way people play and interact with these digital objects. Philosophy teaches us new technologies do not change merely how people act, but they have deep effects on how meanings and values are shaped through their use. Thus, the use of these new digital technologies does not merely allow people to play differently, but it changes what the digital objects in the games are for society. The presentation aims to show how games are changing for society because of the introduction of these new technologies. It will highlight how the values of what is fictional change because the new technologies blur the borders between “fiction” and “reality.” This effect has a direct repercussion on what the game designers are and what role they can play in society. The creativity in designing games turns into the creativity in designing the everyday world. بازگشت
